Privacy policy for Peeps multiplayer game

## Information We Collect

### Account Information

When you use Peeps, we collect a player ID, player name, avatar customization choices, status, language, timezone, birthday and gender if you choose to provide them, and device tokens for push notifications. If you link Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive the provider account identifier and may receive your email address to authenticate, restore, and protect your account across devices.

### Game Data

We store your game progress including photo records, photos (uploaded to secure cloud storage), unlocked cosmetics, gacha pull history, coin and PCoins balance, pet data, and room memberships.

### Chat Messages

Messages sent in game rooms are stored and visible to other players in the same room. Do not share sensitive personal information (passwords, financial details, etc.) in chat.

### Audio and Location Data

If you record a room-radio message, we upload and store the audio, title, duration, and sender information so room members can play it. If you choose the current-city status feature, Peeps accesses your device location with permission to determine and store a city-level status; Peeps does not use background location tracking.

### GIF and Music Search Data

When you search for GIFs, Peeps sends the search term and app language to KLIPY (Kikliko, Inc.). When you search for music, Peeps sends the search term to Apple through MusicKit on iOS or the iTunes Search API on Android. We do not include your Peeps player ID in these search requests. KLIPY processes information under its privacy policy at https://klipy.com/support/privacy-policy, and Apple under its privacy policy. A song you select is stored as part of your room-visible status.

### Analytics & Usage Data

With analytics enabled, we send a limited set of product events and properties to Mixpanel, Inc., linked to your internal player ID. These include app sessions, room joins, completed games, shared photos, onboarding, invitations, rewards, pet care, subscription state, sampled feature duration, app version, platform, and selected device metadata. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking. You can opt out at any time in Settings > Privacy & Data. Separately, production versions use Sentry to process crash reports and a small sample of performance traces; default personal-information collection, logs, and session replay are disabled. We also retain sanitized, aggregated crash and error diagnostics in our systems.

### Advertising Measurement

When ad measurement and usage analytics are enabled, Peeps uses AppsFlyer to measure ads on Meta, Google, Apple Ads, TikTok, and X. AppsFlyer receives installs, app opens, registrations, internal player and device identifiers, IP addresses, and device information. RevenueCat sends purchase and subscription results, amounts, currencies, and transaction identifiers to AppsFlyer, which shares configured conversion events with these advertising partners. We do not send messages, photos, or contact details for this purpose. You can turn this off in Settings; offline changes reach RevenueCat after reconnection. On iOS, cross-app tracking and access to the advertising identifier require Apple tracking permission. Privacy-preserving SKAN and Apple Ads attribution can operate without that permission. Earlier app versions use the following measurement integrations: If you opt in, Peeps uses the Meta SDK to share app activation, registration, device identifiers, IP address, and limited device information with Meta Platforms, Inc. RevenueCat sends subscription lifecycle and revenue results to Meta through the Conversions API so we can measure whether our Meta ads lead to installs and subscriptions. We do not send your messages, photos, precise location, name, email, or phone number for this purpose, and we do not show third-party ads inside Peeps. On iOS this processing also requires Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings > Privacy & Data. On iOS and Android, when usage analytics and ad measurement are enabled (and Apple tracking permission is granted on iOS), Google Analytics for Firebase collects first opens, automatic app events including purchases, app-instance and device identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and device information to measure Google Ads installs and purchases. RevenueCat also sends your internal player ID, product and transaction identifiers, purchase value and currency, and subscription lifecycle events to Google Analytics for Firebase. We do not send messages, photos, contact details, or custom product events for this purpose. Automatic screen reporting and ad personalization are disabled. Turning off either setting stops device collection; RevenueCat forwarding stops after the cleared identifier syncs, which can be delayed while offline. When usage analytics and ad measurement including TikTok are enabled, Peeps uses the TikTok App Events SDK to send install and app-open events, device identifiers, IP address and limited device/network information to TikTok for advertising measurement. Apple tracking permission is also required on iOS. We do not send TikTok your player ID, messages, photos, contact details or purchases. Enhanced data postback and automatic purchase capture are disabled. You can turn this off in Settings; after turning it back on, TikTok measurement resumes on the next app process launch. SDK operational diagnostics may be cached locally and transmitted when measurement is enabled.

### Website Ad Measurement

On this website, OpenAI Ads receives visits to the Peeps home and download pages and app store link clicks through its Measurement Pixel, along with browser and network data needed for attribution. If an ad click brings you here, app store links and redirects may pass the click ID and campaign IDs to AppsFlyer to attribute app installs. We do not send Peeps account details. You can turn off website ad measurement here.

### Subscription Data

If you purchase a PRIME subscription, our subscription provider RevenueCat, Inc. processes the purchase and shares your subscription status with us — including the product purchased, the store (Apple App Store or Google Play), purchase and expiration dates, and an anonymized subscriber identifier. We do not receive or store your credit card or other payment-card details; those are handled by Apple or Google, depending on the store used.

## How We Use Your Information

- Provide and maintain the game service
- Save your game progress and preferences
- Enable multiplayer features and social interactions
- Send push notifications for game events
- Store and serve photos submitted by players
- Improve game performance and user experience
- Measure feature usage and diagnose issues through product analytics

## Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Game data, first-party analytics, device profiles, and aggregate diagnostics are stored in PostgreSQL; short-lived retry deduplication and real-time session data use Redis; uploaded photos, drawings, and audio use S3-compatible secure cloud storage. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information.

## Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Player names, avatars, statuses, profile details you choose to provide, messages, photos, drawings, and radio recordings are shared with members of the same room as needed for the social features. We use service providers to operate Peeps: Mixpanel, Inc. for consent-based product analytics; Meta Platforms, Inc. for consent-based advertising measurement; Sentry for crash and performance diagnostics; RevenueCat, Inc. for purchases, PRIME entitlements, and consent-based delivery of subscription results to Meta; Apple and Google for sign-in, music search, store payments, and push delivery; Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android notifications; KLIPY (Kikliko, Inc.) for GIF search; and cloud hosting, database, and object-storage providers. They process data only for the described services under their own terms and our agreements. Google Analytics for Firebase also processes consent-based ad measurement and RevenueCat purchase events as described above.

## Data Retention

We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide Peeps. Inactive device profiles are deleted after 180 days, diagnostic daily aggregates after 90 days, and app-control audit records after one year. You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data in Settings > Privacy & Data > Delete Account, or request deletion at https://playpeeps.app/account-deletion. Account data and user-generated content are deleted, and erasure requests are sent to our linked analytics, advertising-measurement, and subscription processors; a processor may take up to 30 days to finish. Limited records may be retained only when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, or enforcement, and are then isolated from ordinary product use for the required period. Store subscriptions are managed separately and are not cancelled by deleting a Peeps account.

## Regional Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
